It was a great night in Philly hip hop on December 21, 2007 when Poesh Wonder fans and friends came to World Cafe Live to ring in the holidays and celebrate the release of Poesh Wonder's "No You Haven't And You Never Will Again (The Motion Picture)" and the Second Anniversary of DJ Roxy/RTC's Zodiac Party. Hosted by Mighty Flipside, Esq, the show included performances by Philly hip hop and soul stars including Reef The Lost Cauze, Nex Millen, taragirl, Clean Guns and Sabrina Cuie and a special guest appearance by Cee Knowledge (aka Doodlebug of Digable Planets). Fellowship Farm 2007

In its continuing commitment to Fellowship Farm, Respect The Culture participated in the farm's 2007 Youth Leadership Camp. The kids learned about hip hop culture, and in four short days wrote original songs, choreographed their own dance and produced their own stage productions! Mad love to the Dazzling Divas and 2-1-5! Look for the videos coming to soon on youtube! Search for Fellowship Farm.

RTC and Del Palo Records
In October/November 2006, Respect The Culture spent some
time with our extended hip hop family in Barcelona, Spain. Legendary Spanish producer Griffi (he's in the history books, people), Spanish hip hop phenom Quiroga,
the illest DJ2D2 and the queen of Spanish hip hop business Vir (ever hear of the Sonar Music Festival?) were all there. Special thanks and much love to Mbaka, the ultimate Spanish master of ceremonies, for showing us the real Barcelona. Stay tuned for some
exciting stuff coming from Del Palo in '07...
Respect The Culture and Fellowship Farm

What is hip hop without the kids? As part of our continuing commitment to the community, Respect The Culture once again volunteered at The Fellowship Farm www.fellowshipfarm.org. One of the oldest organizations promoting racial integration (they knew about "Diversity" before "Diversity" was even a term) and once visited by legendary civil rights figures Dr. Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks, Fellowship Farm provides, among many things, summer camps on a 120-acre farm in Montgomery County for kids from Philadelphia. RTC participated in the leadership and diversity camp with kids from South Philadelphia. We taught classes on hip hop culture and worked with our young friends to develop a banging hip hop performance featuring rhyming and dance. (Yeah Kepz Job Men!) |
